Meet Pastor Dan. Leading worship and taking names.
Rev. Dan Stark began his tenure as the sixth pastor in Christ Church’s 120-year history on August 8th, 2015. He grew up in Kellogg, MN as the second youngest of five boys. He attended Luther College in Decorah, IA, graduating with a B.A. in religion and biblical languages in 2006.
He continued his education at Luther Seminary in St. Paul, MN where he graduated with his M.A. in Old Testament (2009) and M.Th. (2011). He completed his M.Div at Emory University Candler School of Theology in Atlanta (2014) with an emphasis on Pastoral Care. He completed 5 units of Clinical Pastoral Education at Emory University Hospital, including a yearlong chaplaincy residency. He is a Chaplain in the Air Force Reserves, and serves the base community of Grand Forks AFB in North Dakota.
Dan currently serves as the convener for the South East Clergy Covenant Association. He is also a part of the New Generation Leadership Initiative of the United Church of Christ. At the Conference Level in Wisconsin, Dan serves on the Catalyst Team. Dan also is on the Mission Team of the South East Association of Wisconsin. Locally in Milwaukee, Dan is part of the Milwaukee Queer and Allied Faith Leaders group. He is a small group leader for Marquette's Companions in Ministry Program. He is also a participant in Marquette's Pastoral Leadership in a Cultural Context Program. The South East Conference of the UCC ordained him on June 14th, 2015 at Decatur UCC, his seminary intern site in Atlanta.
Dan is husband to Sonia and father to Charlotte and Elliott. He enjoys working with computers, technology, and video games. He loves Game of Thrones, running, spending time with his family, gardening, and taking his dog, Cooper, for walks.
